2004 Fox Brook California Cabernet Sauvignon

Label Shot Bottle Shot

Trader Joes has a winner on their hands in the way of the Charles Shaw Cabernet Sauvignon, ie. the Two Buck Chuck. And its sales of the bottle of wine that is always $2 dollars. So other stores have attempted to get into this market.

Albertsons here in Napa has slowly started selling Save-On Drugs products. And also they have started selling their answer to Two Buck Chuck, the Fox Brook Cabernet Sauvignon for two dollars. With a very basic explination on the back and a unpretentious label, this wine is advertised to people who just want a nice basic wine.

As for the wine itself, its not too bad. Not the greatest wine, but it doesn’t double as cheap cooking wine. The taste isn’t bad. As a red wine I can see serving it to immediate family, but not many others. And if I really need affordable Cab then I’ll just go down to Trader Joes and buy a bottle of Charles Shaw.

Sorry for the delay getting back with you.

Normally http://wine.com works great for shipping wine (even to some hard states). But they don’t carry Fox Brook.

A quick search found a couple wine brokers around that do sell it online for shipping.(Including ironically one that was advertised in one of the ads on this page.)

Terri, I feel yourpain…I also used to live in CA and bought it at our local SaveMart stores…we are coast to coast truckers so fortunately for me I can go to California and purchase several cases and bring it back to Jersey…the Chardonnay is perfect for summer evenings sitting on my deck watching fire flies…
